Mount Kapaz giant rises 3,065 metres above the sea level and is located in the are of the lake Göygöl. In addition to its spectacular views peaking out just above the horizon, this mount is also the culprit behind the formation of the Göygöl lake – during the 1139 earthquake its rocks have fallen off and blocked a nearby river in this way forming Göygöl and other mountain lakes around. It is also known as the territory of the early inhabitants in the area.
