Bottle House in Ganja is a quirky piece of architecture made out of 48 thousand bottles. If it was to be placed next to some Gaudi buildings somewhere in Barcelona, it would probably not stand out as much, but in Ganja – it cannot remain unnoticed because of its unusual looks that don’t blend in with the red brick surroundings. That which attracts the eye, though, is just a part of the mystery hidden in this unique house. The moving story of its creation makes it all the more memorable. Ibrahim Dzhafarov, a local architect, has dedicated this piece of architecture to a memory of his younger brother lost in the World War II. Built in 1967, it remains one of the most unique buildings in the city with a mysterious messages hidden in the letters incorporated into its walls.
